“You build it, you run it” is a software development principle emphasizing the development team’s responsibility in designing, building, and maintaining the systems they create. The team should have end-to-end ownership of the systems they develop.

Ladislav and Vilibald are hosting Podcast about “You Build It, you Run It”. You can find us under YBYR on all podcast platforms. We will discuss live with our great guests, and you are invited to this discussion, and you can help us with your questions.

Our guests, Nada Jasikova and Karel Minarik, are seasoned veterans with many years of experience, and it will be a great debate.

Ladislav Prskavec

I’m a software engineer focused on site reliability and product development (SaaS, PaaS or IaaS). I like backend programming in Go, Ruby and Node.JS.

I’m improving processes and workflows related to oncall, monitoring, development and software architecture in cloud.

I’m the Co-Host of the You Build It, You Run It podcast.

Vilibald Wanča

When it comes to computers Vilibald wants to be the magician and know all the tricks in all the books. Fairly experienced engineer with 20+ years of on various platforms and programing languages, carrying the pager on and off since the beginning. Interested in bridging the gap between the low-level and high-level between the server and client, between human and computer, from C to Python and beyond thinking mainly about the humans in all of this. Currently working in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure building a proper hyper scale cloud of the future.

Nada Jašíková

I'm a site reliability engineer, passionate about automation and operations done right. I strongly believe that people have better things to do than having to perform tasks that can be automated.

Areas that spark joy include developer tooling, infrastructure management, observability, incident response and mentoring.

Fan of Douglas Adams and Monthy Pythons.

Karel Minařík

Karel Minařík is a software developer with a focus on system architectures, web APIs, interactive applications, and data visualization.

For almost a decade, he has been working at Elastic, writing Ruby and Go code for libraries and internal applications. Until last year, he had been helping with the digital transformation in the Czech Republic as part of the Česko.Digital team.
