Dive into GIS with Python
a workshop with Jáchym Čepický

Traditional Pycon.cz workshop, where we are going to have a brief introduction into the world of GIS and geospatial - get familiar with raster and vector representation, find out about cartographic projections and explain, why Greenland is bigger than Africa on Google maps, and how to deal with it.

In the second part, we shall put our hands on the code, read some data, modify the data (make some analysis using common libraries) and writhe them back to the file. Processing some of the really big data files using block-windows will also be part of the workshop.

This workshop is suitable for both beginner and advanced Pythonistas.
